EPR Packaging Works

Pack Review: Find the Packaging Changes Worth Making

Examine your existing packaging, identify improvement opportunities and establish what needs testing before you commit. A Pack Review can focus on one pack, a product family or an agreed range.

We start with the pack and the job it must do.

  • Components, materials and weights.
  • Product protection and shelf-life requirements.
  • Filling, manufacturing and handling conditions.
  • Supplier capabilities and tooling constraints.
  • Material reduction and construction simplification.
  • Recyclability questions and supporting evidence.
  • Likely material-cost and EPR implications.

What you receive

A current-pack assessment

A component-level summary of the packaging, available evidence and unresolved questions.

An opportunity report

Prioritised options, with assumptions, constraints and questions for suppliers.

A validation plan

The trials and checks needed to assess performance, quality and operational suitability.

A recommended action list

The next decisions, responsibilities and evidence needed to move forward.

How the review works

  1. Define the brief

Agree the pack, the problem and the performance requirements.

  2. Review the evidence

Examine samples, specifications, component weights, volumes and supplier information.

  3. Assess the options

Identify opportunities and discuss feasibility, costs and constraints.

  4. Agree the next steps

Set out the trials, supplier discussions and decisions worth progressing.

Scope, timing and fees are agreed before work begins.
